Springfield Rifles & Riflettes History

The Springfield Rifles & Riflettes is celebrating over 50 years of serving our community. This community-based non-Profit organization was founded in 1966, established in 1967 and chartered “Not-For-Profit" in 1971.  Through its Football, Cheerleading and Basketball programs it has been a positive force in the surrounding communities throughout the borough of Queens including; St. Albans, Laurelton, Hollis, Queens Village, Jamaica, and Springfield Gardens.

The SRR Organization is run strictly by volunteers. Our entire staff of coaches and administrators are dedicated to instilling into our participants a sense of belonging, teamwork, sportsmanship and pride in themselves.

SRR serves approximately three hundred boys and girls between the ages of six and seventeen year olds. The Rifles are heavily recruited by the public and parochial High Schools. Our players are the mainstay of the local High Schools.

The perpetual enrolling of sons and daughters of former organization members in our program provides us with reasons to believe that the Rifles & Riflettes are making a difference in our community.
